ISOTYPE CONTROL ANTIBODIES

Isotype Control Antibodies

Controls for assessing nonspecific binding and background, matched by host species, Ig subclass, light chain and fluorophore.

MATCHING CRITERIA

Match the experimental antibody attribute by attribute

Where possible, an isotype control should match the experimental antibody's host, immunoglobulin class, light chain, label and use conditions.

01Host species

Host species

Match Mouse, Rat, Rabbit, Human or another host to the experimental antibody.

02Class & subclass

Ig class and subclass

Match immunoglobulin class and subclass, such as IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b or IgM.

03Light chain

Light-chain type

When known, match κ or λ to reduce molecular-background differences.

04Fluorophore

Fluorophore

For directly labeled antibodies, prefer the same fluorophore and compare at similar concentration and test amount.

SELECTION SUPPORT

Coordinate with flow antibodies and labeling services

Provide the experimental antibody's host, Ig subclass, light chain, fluorophore, concentration and planned amount so the technical team can review matching criteria. Structured product master data are not yet available for this category, so unconfirmed catalog numbers, inventory or performance parameters are not shown.

  • Labeled experimental antibody: prefer the same fluorophore
  • Multicolor flow: plan alongside single-stain, FMO and other controls
  • Out-of-catalog combination: assess custom fluorescent labeling and basic quality checks
